Granite Repair in Toronto

Granite repair Toronto starts with an honest assessment, not a guess. Chips, cracks, and worn edges don’t always mean your countertop needs replacing — send a photo and we’ll explain what’s realistic before any work starts.

Granite Repair Toronto Services

Granite is one of the toughest countertop materials there is, but it isn’t indestructible. A dropped pan can chip an edge, a heavy pot can crack a thin overhang, and years of daily use can wear down a seam or a polished surface. In many cases that damage can be repaired rather than replaced — the right call depends on where the damage is and how deep it goes.

Uni-Stone assesses and repairs granite chips, cracks, edge damage, and seam issues across Toronto and the GTA, using color-matched epoxy and the same fabrication skills we use on new installs. See our full stone restoration services for other materials and damage types.

Most granite doesn’t actually need resealing as often as people assume — the Natural Stone Institute has a plain-language explainer on when granite genuinely needs to be sealed, which is worth a read before you pay for a reseal you may not need. We’ll tell you honestly if a repaired area needs it.

What We Fix

The most common granite repairs we assess and handle in Toronto and the GTA.

Chip Repair

Color-matched epoxy fills chips in corners, edges, and around sink cutouts.

Best for isolated chips — polished to blend closely with the surrounding stone.

Crack Assessment & Repair

We assess whether a crack is isolated or points to a bigger support issue underneath.

Stabilized and filled if the repair is realistic — flagged honestly if it isn’t.

Edge & Corner Repair

Chipped or broken edges and corners, including waterfall edges, are rebuilt and re-profiled.

Matched to the original edge detail as closely as possible.

Seam Repair & Re-Epoxying

Old, discoloured, or separated seams are cleaned out and re-filled with fresh epoxy.

See our general seam repair guidance for other stone types.

Refinishing & Polishing

Scratched or dulled granite is honed and repolished to restore its shine.

A full replacement isn’t usually needed for surface wear alone.

Resealing

A fresh sealer coat protects a repaired or aging surface from stains and moisture.

Recommended after any chip or crack repair, and periodically otherwise.

Can Your Granite Be Repaired?

Most chips and many cracks can be repaired, but not every case is a good candidate. Whether a repair is realistic depends on:

  • Location of the damage
  • Depth and length of the crack
  • Whether material is missing, not just cracked
  • Cabinet or substrate movement underneath
  • Damage near sink and cooktop cutouts
  • Previous repairs that didn’t hold

We can’t guarantee repairability from photos alone — a photo assessment tells us whether a repair is realistic and roughly what’s involved, not a final answer.

02

Assess the Damage

We review the photos (and visit in person if needed) to confirm whether repair is realistic.

Granite Repair FAQ

Can a granite chip really be fixed, or does the whole countertop need replacing?
In many cases, yes — a chip can be filled with color-matched epoxy and polished flush. Full replacement is usually only needed for extensive or structural damage.
Will the repair match the original color and pattern?
We match the epoxy and pigment as closely as possible to the existing granite. Granite’s natural pattern means a repair is rarely 100% invisible up close, but it blends well at normal viewing distance.
How long does a granite chip or crack repair take?
It depends on the damage — some repairs are done in one visit, others need more time or a follow-up. Send photos and we can give you a realistic timeline.
Do you repair granite that wasn't fabricated or installed by Uni-Stone?
Yes — we regularly repair granite installed by other companies.
Is a granite crack a sign of a bigger problem?
Sometimes. A crack from an impact is usually isolated, but a crack that keeps growing can point to inadequate support underneath. We’ll flag that during the assessment if we see it.
